Catriona is an artist and designer based in Brighton, whose work explores the relationship we have with collected and accumulated objects, and the layers of meaning and association they carry. Her recent work explores memorable, decorative items found both at home and while travelling.
Catriona gathers imagery from a wide range of sources – including cigarette cards, vintage dresses, decorative china, textiles, market stalls, and architectural structures. These visuals are developed through a process of drawing, layering, and photo editing. A fascination with mark making, colour, and pattern is central to her practice. The final artworks are often created through a combination of Lino printing, Silk Screen printing, textiles, and mixed media techniques.
